Bipasha Banerjee (bipashabanerjee@vt.edu) is an Assistant Professor at the University Libraries, Virginia Tech where she works as the AI Research Scientist. She holds a Ph.D. (2024) and MS (2022) in Computer Science and Applications from Virginia Tech. She received a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology in 2015. Bipasha’s research interests include digital libraries, natural language processing, information retrieval, machine learning, and working with scholarly documents.
Padma Carstens (padma@vt.edu) is a Digital Library Applications Developer with the University Libraries at Virginia Tech. She received her Master’s in Electrical and Computer engineering from Virginia Tech and Bachelors. in ECE from Osmania University, India. Padma has been working with the libraries since 2021, and provided data curation support, created workflows for the University libraries at VT in her past titles.
Yinlin Chen (ylchen@vt.edu) is a Digital Library Architect with the University Libraries at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Applications from Virginia Tech and a M.S. and B.S. in Computer Science at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. His professional interests include digital libraries, cloud computing, microservices and serverless architecture.
Soumik Ghosh (soumikgh@vt.edu) is a Systems Engineer with the University Libraries at Virginia Tech since 2017. He received his Masters in Computer Science and Applications from Virginia Tech in 2017 and his Bachelors in Computer Science from West Bengal University of Technology. Apart from containerisation and cloud native architectures, he likes to dabble in casual reading, writing, astronomy and microbiology.
Jennifer Goyne (goynejennifer@vt.edu) has been a Product Manager with the University Libraries at Virginia Tech since 2023. She received a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering with Minor in Environmental Resource Management from Pennsylvania State University in 1994. Jennifer has over 20 years of programming experience in C# and .Net Development and was previously a Project Manager/Lead Developer for the University of Missouri for 13 years.
Lee Hunter (whunter@vt.edu) has been a Software Engineer with the University Libraries at Virginia Tech since 2016. He received a B.A. in Political Science and Communication Studies from Virginia Tech in 1998 and a B.S. in Computer Science with a Minor in Mathematics in 2011. Lee was previously a Software Engineer for Modea and Ozmo, both in Blacksburg VA.
Yangkai Lin (flynnkai@vt.edu) is a Software Engineer in the University Libraries at Virginia Tech. He received his Masters in Computer Engineering from New York University in 2023 and his Bachelors in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in 2021. He is interested in crafting seamless and visually appealing user experiences in the digital realm.
